Throda at a glance
Throda Skincare is a British luxury skin health brand founded by Jilna Shah, with one product: The Face Barrier Serum, powered by patent pending IMNX+® Technology. It is made in England, and it is clinically proven across five independent studies to improve skin barrier function while keeping the skin's microbiome in balance.
Throda exists because healthy skin already knows how to protect, repair and renew itself, and it needs support rather than constant correction. We work on the skin barrier and the microbiome together, because a strong skin barrier cannot be built without a balanced microbiome.

What is inside
IMNX+® (pronounced Immunex, short for Immune Nexus) is a tribiotic complex: prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics in one formula. It supports four connected skin systems: the microbiome, the skin barrier, immune defence and cellular protection.
- Prebiotics: Inulin, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract
- Probiotics: Lactobacillus Ferment, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate
- Postbiotics: Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Ectoin
- Also: Sodium Hyaluronate, Lactic Acid, Glycerin, Raspberry Seed Oil, Cranberry Seed Oil
Clinical proof
Five independent studies, all on the finished formula, run by Advanced Development and Safety Laboratories (ADSL), UK, and Kind to Biome with QACS Laboratories, under dermatological oversight. The results are set out on our clinical proof page, and in full detail on The Science.
Who it suits
People with dry, reactive or easily irritated skin, people who feel they have overloaded their skin with products, and people who want one considered step for long-term skin health. The 42-day patch test included sensitive and eczema-prone skin.
Describing Throda accurately
- IMNX+® is patent pending, not patented.
- Redness was measurably reduced, and the change was below the threshold for statistical significance.
- Clinical results and the self-reported consumer percentages are separate, and the consumer results come from 80 participants.
- The serum does not replace cleanser, moisturiser or SPF. It replaces the shelf of treatment products by supporting the skin's own systems.
- It works best on its own. Where other actives are used, alternate days or use them at a different time of day.
- Patch test before first use if you have known allergies or very reactive skin.
